Construction of New Plant is Completed
Keeping pace the growth in Delaware County requires building new plants and water lines. The Olentangy Water Treatment Plant is located in the heart of the growth and was the ideal place to expand our treatment capacity. The new Olentangy plant began construction with the Raw Water Pump Station and another up-ground reservoir in June 2003. These projects are complete. The plant began construction in October 2003 and began to pump water in the spring of 2006. The new plant has the capacity of 19.2 million gallons per day.

Del-Co and MCO Water Companies Merge
The MCO Water Company was formed by the residents of northern Morrow County and western Marion County to address the many complaints of failing or poor quality wells. Approximately 1300 residents signed up with the new company. Del-Co supplied water and performed the maintenance and management duties to help the new company get started. In May 2003, the MCO water system officially became part of the Del-Co Water Company.

Radio Read Metering
Del-Co is busy equipping all of our meters with radio read capabilities. The meter in your yard will transmit your water usage to our vehicle as it passes by. This system will allow us to be more efficient in our meter reading operations. It will allow us to take more readings and have fewer estimates on you water usage, making your bills more accurate each month.
